Pyrheliometer SHP1
The Kipp&Zonen Pyrheliometer SHP1 is a sensor that measures solar irradiance coming directly from the sun. It is suitable for climatological research, weather monitoring purposes and solar energy applications.
SHP1 pyrheliometers have extremely low power consumption so that internal heating does not affect the detector performance. Correction of the temperature sensitivity on operating range -40 °C to +80 °C is performed by polynomial functions of the smart interface.
Two versions are available: SHP1-V has an analogue voltake output of 0-1 V, SHP1-A an current output of 4-20 mA. Both have a 2-wire RS-485 serial interface with Modbus RTU protocol that provides a range of instrument status and configuration options. The standardised output makes it easy to interchange instruments for recalibration.
The analogue outputs allow easy connection to virtually any data logger. Modbus interfaces directly to PLC and SCADA systems, industrial networks and controllers. Kipp & Zonen SmartExplorer Windows software is available for instrument configuration, data display and data logging.
