Precipitation detector DVL 142G is modified version of leaf wetness sensor DVL 142. It is used to detect precipitation. Heating element in this sensor prevents permanent dewiness or wetness.
DVL 142G is composed of detection part, heater and electronics. Detection part is double gold.plated comb on isolated base. Humidity between combs teeth causes difference in conductivity, which is detected by electronics. Heating foil mounted under the combs is regulated by timer and takes care that dew evaporates.
