New AMES Radiological Early Warning System in Azerbaijan
From July 2009, Republic of Azerbaijan runs completely automated radiological early warning system, that was developed and delivered by AMES. It consists of six radiological stations, each equipped with AMES MFM 203 radiological monitor and provided with an automatic alarm system against intrusion, and of two central computers, each with an additional PC workstation. Data transmission is made by use of GSM modems.
Azerbaijan system is the seventh state-run radiological monitoring network, made by AMES (after the early warning systems of Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Malta, and Algeria). AMES is thus present with the reliable and up-to-date gamma monitoring systems already on three continents.
